Introduce this fully funded model of Basic Income
This Model of Basic Income could be highly effective in providing basic provisions to the masses, during times of a pandemic and other national emergencies.
The total cost of this provision is less than 7.5% of GDP.
Please see detailed below: Benefit: £2500.00 per annum per person.
Total cost: 170 billion (68 million X 2500)
Of this 100 billion could be recovered through abolishing the personal tax allowance. A further 12 billion is recovered by stopping child benefit because all children will receive £2500 per annum. To fund the short fall of £58 billion, a quantitative easing mechanism should be used. As it's a better use of digital money created by Bank of England then buying Government Bonds to increase asset prices with the hope of increasing economic activity.
