Petition Action

Public enquiry Into why Exercise Cygnus’ critical findings were not implemented

Petition Details

Conduct a public enquiry into why the most critical findings from the 2016 Exercise Cygnus EPRR drill were not implemented and why the findings were not released to the public.
Establish responsible and accountable parties and develop recommendations to ensure these failings do not happen again.

Additional Information

Earlier reaction to the Covid-19 pandemic, including better preparedness of ELRR response measures based on the Exercise Cygnus findings, would probably have saved many lives and reduced the economic loss experienced by the current pandemic response.
Ensuring findings and actions of future EPRR drills are fully implemented and made publicly available holds government responsible and accountable for actions undertaken, or not, whilst they are in power.
