Stop companies registered in tax havens receiving state aid during the pandemic

Petition Details

Following the decision by the government of Denmark not to allow companies registered in tax havens to receive state aid during the Covid-19 pandemic, we feel it is only appropriate the U.K. government does the same.

Additional Information

At present all companies which have had to put staff on furlough during the Covid-19 pandemic are able to claim 80% of the staff’s salaries from the government. However, if a company has not paid into the public purse, by way of paying tax as in it is registered in a tax haven or domiciled for tax purposes , it seems wholly inappropriate that they should receive state aid from a source they have actively avoided paying into,we urge the government to disallow them from claiming
