Petition Action

Refuse to bail out companies registered in offshore tax havens

Petition Details

Follow the examples of Denmark and Poland, and exclude firms that incorporate themselves in famous tax havens, meaning they can avoid domestic business taxes, from any potential "bail out" options resulting from Covid19 or similar issues in the future.

Additional Information

Last year, the UK were shown to be the "biggest enabler of global corporate tax dodging"[1], with the UK losing almost £400bn in taxes (3 times the annual NHS budget - no wonder we can't get PPE!)

Denmark and Poland have already implemented this[2], and as Robert Palmer, ED of Tax Justice UK says, "Companies that dodge their obligations to society by cutting their tax bills shouldn't expect to get bailed out."
