Petition Action

Don't give state aid to companies registered in tax havens.

Petition Details

Companies registered in tax haven countries (countries on the EU list of "non-cooperative tax jurisdictions") should not receive any state aid

Additionally, firms applying for state aid should not be able to pay dividends or make share buy-backs for 2 years, unless they pay the state aid back 1st

Additional Information

If we are going to spend billions of pounds of taxpayers' money on saving companies and jobs, the money needs to go to that purpose. It shouldn't be being sent half way around the world to tax havens, or be be used to pay money to shareholders rather than employees and suppliers. It isn't unreasonable to expect companies to pay back state aid before they can start to pay dividends again.
