Make women’s sanitary products tax free
We would like the government to not add VAT onto women’s sanitary products (pads, tampons etc.). They should be tax free to make them as affordable as possible to help stop period poverty.
We believe it is unfair that the government have VAT on women’s sanitary products and many women in uk are unable to access sanitary products due to their price and the amount they need. We believe that women should not be embarrassed or set back in life due to their period and lack of access to period products.

The Government e-Petitions Team gave the following reason:
The Government announced in the last budget that the VAT on sanitary products would be reduced to zero from 1 January 2021, when the transition period for Britain departure from the EU has ended.
