Scrap Taxes For Key Workers (during the Covid-19 crisis)
Furloughed workers are being asked to stay at home and are being paid to do so. They are also not having to pay commuting charges. Key workers are having to go to work, putting themselves at risk and are not being compensated. Scrap wage taxes for key workers as compensation for their efforts.
Key workers, those people whose work is necessary for the country to continue functioning are being asked to go to work (no option to protect themselves at home), to put themselves at risk by mixing with others and to continue paying commuting charges in order to make the journey to and from. They’re not being compensated for their bravery, their selflessness or for their remarkable efforts in keeping the country going; there’s no reward for these people, no benefit, no ‘thank you.’
