Ensure that all financial bailouts to corporations come with public interest.
All financial assistance given to corporations and large companies, to help with the fallout of covid-19, should include a public interest clause and a cap on all dividend payments and bonuses. Also make sure no public money goes to any company registered overseas for tax purposes.
After the 2008 financialsal crash banks and corporations used public funds whilst still paying massive bonuses and dividends to directors. The government needs to make sure this isn’t possible for any company receiving public money, and that the public money is used to buy shares.
The government should not use public funds to give assistance to companies that do not pay U.K taxes.
