Enforce the Package Holiday and Linked Travel Regulations 2018 refund laws.
To make all travel companies provide refunds to customers who request them in accordance with the Package Holiday and Linked Travel Regulations 2018.
To stop ABTA misleading customers by To stop ABTA misrepresenting its member guidelines as being the rules on holiday refunds.
The Package Holiday and Linked Travel Regulations 2018 were introduced to protect customers from unfair practices by travel companies. These regulations are implicit in all UK package holiday contracts and Part 3; Regulation 14 sets out the need to provide a customer a full refund within 14 days should the travel company cancel the package.
ABTA has issued guidance to its members telling them and customers that a credit note can be issued in contravention of the regulations. This is unlawful.
