Amend The Privacy and Electronic Communications (EC Directive) (Amendment) Regulations 2011 To Allow Analytical & Tracking Cookies
The UKs implementation of the EU Privacy Directive will damage the UK economy by leaving UK businesses at a competitive disadvantage. This will leave UK businesses at a competitive disadvantage against other countries, cost the country significant revenue loss and reduce available online services.
Currently the law is so broad that is also covers analytical and tracking cookies as these are deemed 'non essential' to site functionality.
Amend the law to allow cookies used for user tracking and analytical data collection.
There is also a significant risk that currently 'free' online services may withdraw or reduce their services to the UK or begin charging a fee - costing the UK consumers directly in either level of service access or directly through chargeable fee's.
