Petition Action

Provide an action plan for first year college students working from home.

Petition Details

I would like the government to give a detailed action plan for first year college students who are due to sit their exams next year.

Additional Information

Thousands of first year college students are working from home. Some teachers are setting more work than ever before! Students are becoming heavily anxious about their A level courses. On top of their studies, the current situation means they could be fulfilling additional responsibilities such as caring for the elderly. Students are increasing habits such as smoking due to the stress and anxiety that their grades will not be reflective of their true abilities. Don’t leave them in the dark!

This petition was rejected

The Government e-Petitions Team gave the following reason:

Petitions need to call on the Government or Parliament to take a specific action.

We understand that you are concerned about the welfare of students who have to take their exams next year, however we're not exactly sure what you mean by an 'action plan' or what you would like it to contain.

You could start a new petition explaining clearly what you would like the Government or Parliament to do. If you want the Government to reduce curriculum content for year 10 & 12 students who will sit exams next year, you may wish to sign this petition instead: petition.parliament.uk/petitions/320772

If you want the Government to work with regulators and exam providers to clarify exam arrangements for 2021, you may wish to sign this petition: petition.parliament.uk/petitions/312570
