Keep schools closed until September to avoid a rise in Covid-19 transmission
Even in the event of easing lock down measures, schools should be one of the last places to open since social distancing is impossible even with smaller classes or fewer pupils in school.
Opening schools increases non-essential contacts and most schools are able to recover time next academic year
Opening schools increases contacts between pupils and teachers, teachers and teachers and eventually contact between pupils are their families, teachers and their families. This increases immensely the possibility of transmission of coronavirus to vulnerable teachers and individuals in their families and pupils' families.
Public opinion has now shifted and most parents do not want their children back in school, teachers are scared to go back and it is absolutely possible to catch up next year.
