Introduce a Climate Change subject to the National School Curriculum
To add a core subject that will educate school children and young people on
What climate change is.
What change is happening on a local, national and global level.
What to expect in the short, medium and long-term.
Strategies and practical skills to cope with the challenges they will face.
The world climate is changing rapidly and ecosystems are collapsing. It will impact every aspect of life. The generations in school will respond to the impact of climate change. They will run our hospitals, plan food and water distribution and manage huge social and economic change. It is practical to prepare them. It will give them agency to impact their future, prepare them to meet unprecedented challenges and put the UK in a stronger position to cope with the biggest test we will ever face.
