Petition Action

Extend the Govt Job Retention Scheme to flexible, partial furloughing past June.

Petition Details

Please consider extended the Government Job Retention Scheme beyond June on a flexible basis. Allowing employees to return on a part time basis.

Additional Information

As businesses return to work, we need people working but not necessarily full time until markets and sales revenues improve.

The current scheme is supportive and essential but stifles productivity.

Part time working will:
- Avoid a cliff edge of returning to a full wage bill without sales income
- Reduce risk of redundancies
- Allow businesses to emerge in line with demand
- Stagger shifts to relieve pressure on public transport
- Reduce pressure on workplace space & potential for infection
