Insurance companies to payout Business Interruption Claims caused by Covid-19
Businesses have suffered heavy financial losses as a result of Covid-19 and it associated impact. Businesses took out Business Interruption Insurance for situations such as this. For insurance companies to now refuse to pay out is accepting the unacceptable. Government intervention is needed
Government intervention is required to get the insurance providers to honour business interruption policies that were taken out businesses precisely for situations such as the one businesses find themselves in today for no fault of their own.

The Government e-Petitions Team gave the following reason:
The decision to pay out under a policy is one for individual insurance companies, not the UK Government or Parliament. If you are unhappy with the decision of your insurer you should complain directly to them. If you are unsatisfied with how an insurer responds to your complaint you may wish to contact the financial ombudsman: www.financial-ombudsman.org.uk/businesses/complaints-deal/insurance
