No immigration health surcharge (IHS) for international NHS workers.
There should not be any immigration healthcare surcharges for international healthcare worker when applying for leave to remain in U.K visas.
Thousands of NHS workers like me have to pay hundreds of pounds healthcare surcharges whenever we apply for visa renewal.
Although we work for the NHS, pay our taxes like any other British national there is no such thing as free NHS service even though we are the service.
We are asked to pay this healthcare surcharge as part of our application process regardless we use the NHS service or not.
I urge the U.K. government please consider abolishing the immigration health surcharge’ or IHS.
