Petition Action

All people arriving in the UK should immediately be quarantined for two weeks.

Petition Details

The government has said it will adopt this measure in a few weeks. Why then but not now? The government exempts certain individuals, including keyworkers, particularly able to infect others. The quarantine should be compulsory, occur near to disembarkation, and be under UK Government control.

Additional Information

The UK has a shockingly high Covid-19 infection-rate. We note that countries that have been careful to control the entry of travellers during the pandemic have tended to have fewer Covid-19 cases. However, thousands of possibly contagious people are arriving in the UK and can immediately spread the disease almost anywhere within our borders. It's late for the UK to admit its mistake, but not too late. Effective quarantine must begin now, and can be reviewed as the pandemic progresses.
