Reduce the tax on alcohol sold in Public Houses post the lockdown.
In order to help publicans restart their businesses The Government is asked to reduce the taxation on alcohol sold in pubs. The tax on alcohol sold in supermarkets and off-licences should not be reduced.
For many communities the pub is a focal point and performs a similar role to religious and community centres. The importance of this should be recognised and celebrated.
It is noted that pubs will be one of the last businesses to reopen and therefore will suffer disproportionately during these difficult times. Loosing these establishments from our communities would be a travesty.
