End the outdated tradition of jeering, braying and heckling during PMQ debates
As elected MPs by the public we expect behaviours that model professionalism , respect and decorum . Having listened to recent exchanges in “ covid times “there is a strong argument for clarity and articulation without the “boorish” disruptive conduct which detracts from the serious discussion
Parliament has argued that the 13 th century “ style of debate is one of cut and thrust intervening with spontaneous reaction to opponents views “ Braying and jeering are not the behaviours that support transparency and accountability during the business of running the country which in any other sphere would demand professional , courteous and professional conduct . Our elected representatives are not above this . The recent digital PMQs has indeed acted as a catalyst ready for political change .
