Extend the Coronavirus Job Retention Scheme to July and beyond
Extend the CJRS to July to allow companies that are unable to reopen to keep employees on furlough until it is possible to do so.
This is imperative as thousands of people rely, and will continue to rely on the scheme even after the lockdown is lifted, for their livelihood. Extending the CJRS will prevent thousands of redundancies and ensure that people that are unable to return to work can still afford to pay rent, but food and so on. It will also put an end to the uncertainty around income for a lot of people, in an already stressful enough period of time.
