Allow students in the UK to cancel contracts in student halls early due to COVID
This petition is asking the Government to allow students living in student halls to cancel their tenancy agreements early due to COVID-19.
During the Coronavirus pandemic, the UK Government has not said much in regards to University students. Many students are stuck in student halls alone which isn't good for mental health, and many of them are also having financial difficulties. Many students have lost their jobs, or have been furloughed, meaning it has become very difficult to maintain staying in accommodation during this time.

The Government e-Petitions Team gave the following reason:
Suspending payments for rent or ending a tenancy early is a matter for individual landlords, and not the UK Government or Parliament.
