Parents to have the right to refuse to send child to school in June in there is still a pandemic of Covid-19

Additional Information

Families may have a vulnerable person in the house hold that could potentially contract the virus from the child. Or parents could pass on to parents or others

The Government e-Petitions Team gave the following reason:

There's already a petition about this issue. We cannot accept a new petition when we already have one about a very similar issue.

The Government has said that it strongly encourages children and young people in the eligible year groups and priority groups to attend, as requested by their school or college, unless they are self-isolating or there are other reasons for absence. However, the Government has also said that parents will not be fined for non-attendance at this time.
