Petition Action

Stop housing developers building houses everywhere. Save YOUR local area!

Petition Details

Housing Developers are building a colossal amount of homes all over the UK. They are destroying towns and villages, overburdening the local infrastructures and destroying vital green space. Local councils need more power opposing this, and stronger rules are needed to protect these areas

Additional Information

Housing developers have the upper say in everything. Even if a plan is rejected by the councils, they are usually won on appeal, costing the taxpayers thousands each time. County councils need to see the bigger picture and assess road surfaces and traffic.
Roads are awful and gridlocked. Schools are full to bursting. In my area it is a three week wait for a GP appointment. Figures show 430 houses needed building between 2016 and 2019 - nearly 1100 were completed. Act now!!

This petition was rejected

The Government e-Petitions Team gave the following reason:

We understand that you are concerned about new housing developments, but it's not clear what action you want the Government to take about this. We can only accept petitions that request a clear action by the Government or Parliament.

We have published a related petition which you might like to sign: petition.parliament.uk/petitions/319314

You could also start a petition calling on the Government to require all new housing developments to be approved by the relevant local authority before they can go ahead, if that is what you want to happen.
