Exempt non-Furloughed employees from any tax rises to pay for Furlough scheme

Petition Details

We wish the rates of personal taxation to be frozen or lowered for all workers that have been continually employed throughout the coronavirus crisis or were not eligible for the governments furlough scheme due to their work status if taxation increases are required to cover the cost of the scheme.

Additional Information

The cost of the government furlough scheme is estimated at around £10 billion per month of tax payers money, money that will need to be recovered in order to fund other projects such as infrastructure. It is grossly unfair that those who have not benefited from this scheme with its pay-outs of up to £2500 a month should be expected to contribute through more taxation to cover the shortfall created.
