UK Govt to support Newstarter Employees in the same way as Self Employed workers
Almost 1.5 m Newstarters have been left with no support from the UK Govt. They are allowing Self employed to claim based on their average earnings for the 3 tax yrs ended 2018/19. How do they know these businesses were still operating in March 2020? The Chan also gave self employed a further 4 wks to
submit SA returns for 2018/19 AFTER he announced the CJRS on 20 March. The SA return for 2018/19 was already o/due as deadline was 31/01/20.HMRC have proof that employees held jobs in March 2020.The employed and self employed have all paid tax to support this country all of their working lives. It is time for the UK Govt to step up and fairly support each & everyone of these taxpayers without any form of discrimination or humiliation which appears unforgivingly to have been the policy thus far
