We would like the government to change the rules to accept one witness on historic child rape. So that the perpetrators can be punished.

The Government e-Petitions Team gave the following reason:

We understand that you are concerned about action not being taken in respect of cases of historic child sex abuse where there is only one witness, but it's not clear what you want the Government to do about this.

The police and the Crown Prosecution Service (CPS) are responsible for deciding whether to charge people with a crime, but a prosecution can already be brought in cases where there is only witness. Decisions about whether to bring a case is an operational matter for the CPS, and not the Government or House of Commons.
