Petition Action

Change the school year to run January to December to absorb the 'lost' term.

Petition Details

Change the school year to run Jan-Dec. Keep classes in their current year group through until December, hopefully with their same teachers. Use Sept-Dec 2020 to even out the imbalance in education that children will have received during school closures due to covid-19. Alter holiday duration.

Additional Information

Varying educational input due to school closures means discrepancies. Reconfigure our education system to absorb the 'lost' term and change the education calendar to run Jan-Dec.
Use Sept-Dec 2020 as the final term of this academic year. Make Christmas holidays longer to mark the change of year group. This may also slow seasonal 'flu spread naturally by reducing groups of children in enclosed spaces. Summer holidays, challenging for working parents,a long haul for lots of kids, to be shortened.
