Petition Action

Give self employed the October extension of the coronavirus job retention scheme

Petition Details

The chancellor recently announced an October extension to the 80% coronavirus job retention scheme. There has been no mention of doing similar for the self employed.

Additional Information

The whole country should be treated equally. Offering the extension of the scheme to the employed on PAYE and not the self employed is discriminatory. Our businesses were closed and nearly always can’t be operated from home. No customers in your business as they are following stay at home advice and correctly so. But no guarantee of equal help either.
