Review Proposed changes to Congestion Charging

Petition Details

Propose to maintain the existing Charges of Monday to Friday 7am to 6pm.
Additionally all PHV that meet ULEZ requirements to get 50% discount

Additional Information

Public transport is limited in its running and under much stress and pressures. For the foreseeable future the public must have all options available to them, to get them to work safely
PHV drivers are struggling with income due to reduced rides from general public and from airport travellers. less people are working in the city and it will prove to be highly costly for PHV drivers to maintain some form of cost effectiveness with the proposed £15 per day charges. Drivers are already stressed.

This petition was rejected

The Government e-Petitions Team gave the following reason:

We can't accept your petition because the issue you raise is not the responsibility of the Government or Parliament. This is the responsibility of the London Assembly.
You can petition the London Assembly directly: www.london.gov.uk/about-us/london-assembly/petitions

The Government has agreed a package consisting of a mixture of grants and loans based upon a series of conditions agreed by the mayor, including the reinstatement of the congestion charge: www.gov.uk/government/news/government-grants-transport-for-london-funding-package

You could start a petition calling on the Government to reimburse people, or particular groups of people, for the cost of the congestion charge, if that is what you want to happen. You could also start a petition calling on the Government to seek to revise the terms of its support for Transport for London, so that this is not conditional on the reinstatement of the congestion charge.
