Open a Public Inquiry into the government’s handling of the COVID19 pandemic.
Open a public inquiry into the government’s policy of and handling of the COVID19 pandemic.
Urgently investigate initial guidance on the spread of infection, why procurement of essential PPE was not prioritised, why government despite advice of professional bodies persists in pushing for easing of lockdown restrictions.
Since the beginning of the global pandemic the government has been slow to act, this has caused needless infections and deaths.
Government advice has been confused and delivered in such a haphazard fashion that frequently even cabinet ministers have been forced to issue apologies and retract statements. The weight of this crisis calls for and demands sound leadership as the consequences are all to painfully clear- 33,000 deaths.
