Repay critical workers' annual leave
Repay critical and key workers up to 14 days annual leave used since 23 March 2020 in order to cover childcare arrangements or changes to shift patterns. To be used at a later date, when things are slightly more normal, to enjoy and spend valuable time together as families.
Many critical workers, especially civil servants and emergency services staff, have had to either change their shift patterns or take annual leave in order to care for their children and families, whilst they have never stopped working to keep essential services running and maintain public health and good order. In doing so, they have lost valuable time together as families.
Show them that you care about the valuable service they have provided.

The Government e-Petitions Team gave the following reason:
Annual leave is a matter for individual employers, not the UK Government or Parliament.
The Government announced that workers who have not taken all of their statutory annual leave entitlement due to COVID-19 will be able to carry it over into the next 2 leave years.
