Petition Details

Just as we have nutritional information, alcohol volume and energy consumption ratings on product - we ask that manufacturers add a label to indicate how much water and carbon went into the manufacture of a product in the form of a clear and easy to understand rating for consumers.

Additional Information

There is an environmental impact for every product we buy. This is having a detrimental impact on public health, species diversity and climate. In turn this harms crops, economies, living standards/stability. Through eco-labels we will:
1 Put pressure on manufacturers to adopt more eco-friendly practices;
2 Empower consumers to make choices which balance personal need with responsibility;
3 Balance economic prosperity with the environment for the long term benefit of life and planet
