Future MP pay awards to match that of lowest level of public sector pay rises.
Dismiss the Key-worker Covid medal & instead ‘reward’ the newly valued public sector key workers with a demonstrable commitment by MP’s that we are ‘all in this together’ by aligning any future MP pay awards with those of the lowest of public sector pay awards.
In view of universal public appreciation of key workers through Covid pandemic I find idea of a medal patronising in a context of chronic government under funding & austerity measures which have adversely affected nhs & other public sectors for many years. Part of austerity was public sector a pay freeze whilst MP’s awarded themselves considerably more. I aspire for public & government support for future investment to ensure more robust health & social care services to the good of society.

The Government e-Petitions Team gave the following reason:
The UK Government and Parliament aren't responsible for setting MPs' pay. The Independent Parliamentary Standards Authority (IPSA) is responsible for deciding on MPs' expenses and pay. IPSA is independent of both Parliament and Government.
