Make drive through take away outlets print the car registration on packaging
I would like the registered keeper of the vehicle to be responsible for ensuring that the takeaway packaging is disposed of in the correct way and not strewn across roads thrown on verges and into hedges etc
It would save costs for local authorities having to constantly pick up deliberately discarded packaging and improve the environment for everybody.
If a meaningful fine was imposed on the owner of an offending vehicle maybe people would think twice about discarding their waste in an irresponsible way. This could easily be achieved using number plate recognition at the order point and running the packaging through an ink jet printer when the order is made up.
