Re-open all public toilets
Councils need to be ordered to open public toilets.
Public toilets are essential to a lot of people. They are not just an option, but a necessity. Specifically, members of the public who suffer from debilitating illnesses such as Crohn's Disease and Ulcerative Colitis. At this time, they are either confined to their houses, or suffering great fear when they do venture out for work or exercise. This could be having a detrimental effect on mental health. In normal times it is a lot to deal with. With this current pandemic it's so much worse. The usual places they know they can go are not an option. Supermarkets have long queues and cafes are closed. Please consider this important matter.

The Government e-Petitions Team gave the following reason:
We can’t accept your petition because it is about something local authorities, not the Government or House of Commons, are responsible for. Individual local authorities are responsible for the provision of public toilets, and the Government has not required these to be closed at any point during the outbreak.
On 28 June Government ministers wrote to councils thanking those that had kept toilets open during the pandemic, and urging those that have closed them to refer to advice on measures that can be taken to open toilets in a safe way: assets.publishing.service.gov.uk/government/uploads/system/uploads/attachment_data/file/896040/Joint_letter_Simon_Clarke_MP_and_Rebecca_Pow_MP.pdf
If your local authority has not reopened public toilets in your area, you should contact them directly about this.
