Petition Action

Immediately allow partners at pregnancy scans and allow 4D scans to commence

Petition Details

With the Government allowing small children back to school as of Monday (who don't know how to social distance), people on tubes (social distancing almost impossible), non essential shops opening - i am asking for partners to be allowed to scans and 4D private scans to recommence.

Additional Information

For the sake of pregnant women's mental health. This is already a miserable time with the risk of many pregnant women becoming mentally ill from being unable to experience their pregnancies properly with so many restrictions - one small change which would allow pregnant women feel supported and have at least a little happiness during their pregnancies would go a long way!

If we are allowed to the hospital anyway what difference does it make!

This petition was rejected

The Government e-Petitions Team gave the following reason:

Decisions about who can attend scans and the type of scans available are a matter for the NHS, not the UK Government or House of Commons.

On 5 June, the NHS’s suspension of hospital visiting was lifted. This means that visiting is now subject to local discretion by trusts and other NHS bodies. You should check with your maternity team and sonography unit for their policy on visitors attending antenatal appointments, including scans.
