Petition Action

Legislate for the deportation of non-UK citizens convicted of domestic abuse

Petition Details

Non-UK citizens face deportation action following a criminal conviction, but those who have married and had children with UK citizens can use the right to family life in the HRA to avoid deportation. This should not be possible.

Additional Information

The Government should ensure that all non-UK citizens convicted of domestic abuse face deportation, and are not able to rely on the right to family life to avoid deportation.
