Allow all our theatres to reopen as soon as possible

Petition Details

While I accept that social distancing makes this impossible at the moment, I want the government to make sure that theatres open as a matter of urgency. It is estimated that, if the ban lasts until the end of the year, three quarters of our theatres will be forced to close. This would be a tragedy.

Additional Information

1. Bear my appeal consciously in mind as the restrictions on our movement continue to be eased.
2. Consider if there is a way - via special testing at theatre entrances, for example - that theatres can be opened sooner.
3. In the meantime, urgently consider financial help for theatre companies and actors where possible.
