Petition Action

NO to monitoring of Calls, Emails, Texts and Website visits

Additional Information

Under proposed legislation, the government will be able to monitor the calls, emails, texts and website visits of EVERYONE in the UK. Not just if you're a suspect, not just if you're speaking to someone under investigation, but EVERYONE. Without a warrant. Without a reason.

Why do they need to do this? They say that it is "vital" to protect the public, and that if you have nothing to hide, you have nothing to fear. I say that whilst a police state is a secure state, CIVIL LIBERTIES COME FIRST.

This petition was rejected

The Government e-Petitions Team gave the following reason:

There's already a petition about this issue. We cannot accept a new petition when we already have one about a very similar issue.

You are more likely to get action on this issue if you sign and share a single petition.
