Petition Action

Discuss the opening of zoos to the public as they need funding desperately.

Petition Details

The government are allowing beaches to be crowded with no control, yet zoos, willing to put in appropriate measures in a safe manner cannot open. A clear plan needs to be put in place that considers the opening. The government needs to explain how this is not safe compared to filling a beach.

Additional Information

Zoos in our country are facing an unprecedented crisis. They have extremely large overheads and rely on public admission to fund the care for some of the world's most endangered species. We are risking these animals and need to take action. In addition, the future of conservation efforts will be hampered.

It seems unclear why zoos cannot open in a controlled way, yet beaches are packed. This needs to be addressed. Zoos are often open spaces and this is considered low risk. We need action.
