All domesticated animals to be given the same protection by the law as to that of Dogs
We the undersigned hereby petition the government that an amendment to the Road Traffic Act 1988 s.170 should be to include any domesticated animals.
Currently If you hit a cat or domesticated or wild animal, there is no obligation to report it, but you must ensure that the animal is not injured or suffering.
This should be changed immediately to state the following
;any driver causing injury to what is believed a domesticated pet, should stop and remain at the scene for a reasonable period, attempt to ascertain the owner and report it to the local vet and animal shelter/RSPCA, to ensure that responsible pet owners can locate their pets as too many animals just go "missing"
You can't sign this petition because it is now closed. But you can still comment on it here at Repetition.me!
