Instruct PGL to refund monies on Covid-19 cancelled school residential trips.
Government to issue guidance/instruction to School Residential Trip organisers PGL, or similar organisations, to offer schools options as below
- make immediate refunds on all money paid for trips where required, or
- offer credit notes for future trips, for those schools who wish to accept.
Thousands of UK schools have made bookings with PGL for trips to be taken this Summer Term. Due to Covid-19 PGL are cancelling trips siting 'government travel restrictions' and refusing to make refunds on monies paid. School's finances will be hit as they endeavour to pay back parents currently in deep financial crisis due to being furloughed, losing their jobs or are self employed. In our particular case, we are a primary School in a non affluent area of North London with high deprevation.

The Government e-Petitions Team gave the following reason:
Arrangements for refunding, changing or rebooking travel are a civil matter between schools and holiday operators, not the Government or Parliament.
