Change the History curriculum to include Black and POC history
It is a fact that Britain had benefited from colonialism and slavery. Often the British Empire has been glamorised however with the impact ignored or discredited. For instance the Amritsar massacre in India and the opium wars in China. There needs to be change in the curriculum to recognise this.
The government should recognise and change the history curriculum. Explaining the negative impact of colonialism on BAME communities, and reflect on content that is currently taught to students.
