Cover up and protect statues in areas where a protest will be held.
We have seen recently the unnecessary defacing of our national statues and memorials (including the cenotaph). the government should allow peaceful protest however it must also take steps to ensure that our monuments are rightly protected.
These are pieces of history, if a group or a person wishes to have a monument taken down then they should appeal through the relevant channels. Nobody should be allowed to wantonly deface and destroy statues or monuments that have stood and been enjoyed for generations, the government should take the necessary steps to ensure that monuments and statues are protected in an area that is going to be used to protest irregardless of the movement.
You can't sign this petition because it was rejected. But you can still comment on it here at Repetition.me!
The Government e-Petitions Team gave the following reason:
Deciding how to manage protests is a decision for individual local authorities and police forces, not the Government or House of Commons.
