NOT TO CRIMINALISE INDIVIDUALS WHO DISMANTLED STATUE OF SLAVE TRADER

Petition Details

WE DO NOT WANT THE INDIVIDUALS TO BE CRIMINALISED FOR DISMANTLING THE SLAVE TRADER STATUE IN BRISTOL INSTEAD BE PRAISED AS IT SHOULD HAVE BEEN REMOVED YEARS AGO, WE CALL FOR A NEW STATUE REPRESENTING RACIAL EQUALITY

Additional Information

WE WANT THE GOVERNMENT TO DO THIS BECAUSE WE LIVE IN A DIFFERENT WORLD NOW BLACK AND WHITE ALIKE ARE CONTINOUSLY GETTING MORE AND MORE DISGUSTED WITH THE RACIST PAST, EVERYTIME WE SEE STATUES LIKE THAT IT GETS THROWN IN OUR FACE WHAT THE RULING ELITE WAS ABLE TO DO AND COULD SPARK A REVOLUTION. IF THE GOVERNMENT AGREED AND CHANGED THE STATUE TO A NEW ONE OF INCLUSIVITY IT WOULD ENABLE US TO BE ABLE TO WALK INTO THE FUTURE IN A MORE POSITIVE LIGHT

This petition was rejected

The Government e-Petitions Team gave the following reason:

Decisions on whether to arrest and prosecute alleged offenders is a matter for local police forces and the Crown Prosecution Service, not the UK Government or Parliament.
