Remove restriction on ESA claimants living with a working partner
I would like the Government to change the rules so that disabled people can continue claiming income-related ESA even if they move in with a working partner.
Current rules do not allow disabled people to claim income-related ESA while living with a partner unless their partner works less than 24 hours a week.
Anyone should have the right to live with whoever they wish to regardless of whether or not they rely on ESA. As it is at the moment the Government will pay the rent for someone on ESA but they will not allow that person to move in with a partner which could save the Government money.
