Prevent Sadiq Khan from removing any monument plaque or memorial in London.
I like thousands more have watched in horror at the peaceful demonstrations turning into nothing more than anarchy on our streets. The tearing down of statues is not the way to gain support It does the exact opposite. We must learn from history, pulling down a statue shows some have learned nothing.
We have an historic past which can not be eradicated by the removal of memorials. You can not "pick and choose" what to remember and what not to remember. We must learn from history not to make the same mistakes again. Some memorials are a reminder of the mistakes that should not be repeated at any cost. The important memorials remind us of the sacrifice made by men and women of ALL creeds and colours who stood together when evil threatened to wipe out those targeted as inferior.
