Review rules to allow hospital visitors for non-COVID19 patients
Following the restrictions of visitors visiting loved ones in hospital could the rules be reviewed to allow a main carer to visit a patient in hospital even if it is conditional on wearing PPE supplied by the visitor so not to use essential medical supplies.
Some hospital patients are not able to use their phones or video calls to stay in contact with their loved ones and have no contact with anyone they are familiar with. A typical examples could be they have suffered a stroke and have lost use of limbs or brain function. Seeing someone they are familiar with may speed their recovery and mental state of mind. Even an hour visit everyday by their main carer would benefit a vulnerable patient who they are used to relying on on a daily basis.

The Government e-Petitions Team gave the following reason:
Decisions about visitors are a matter for the NHS, not the Government or House of Commons.
On 5 June, the NHS’s suspension of hospital visiting was lifted. This means that visiting is now subject to local discretion by trusts and other NHS bodies. You should check with your maternity team and sonography unit for their policy on visitors attending antenatal appointments, including scans.
