Reform National Curriculum to contain all Black British History Past and Present
To implement and ensure a thorough and robust account of Black British History through the national education system to negotiate, rectify and recognise those real-life events and contributions that continue to shape and support our society in Britain today culturally, socially, and economically.
We are calling for a commitment and pledge from policy makers for pro-active anti-racist action through education. In recognition of these historic times, a meaningful step that we can take now will be to reform the National Curriculum to include all available historical evidence on Black British History and artefacts of African diaspora in the UK, as well as the impact of The Empire, Trans-Atlantic Slave Trade and how this relates to the successive colonies of the Caribbean and Africa.
