Establish a National Museum of Slavery & British Imperialism in London
The government should establish a National "Museum of Slavery & British Imperialism" in Westminster, to educate people about the long history and legacy of enslavement of African and other people, and the racism, exploitation, colonisation and other crimes of British Imperialism.
For many British people, the 'Empire' evokes vague feeling of nostalgia. But Britain was arguably historically the biggest abuser of human rights on the planet. A National "Museum of Slavery & British Imperialism" could promote greater awareness & understanding of the legacy of slavery, imperialism, settler colonialism and racist attitudes today. Unless we confront the history of slavery, and the later atrocities of British Imperialism, we won't be able to establish racial harmony in our country.
